Application Process

We are now accepting applications for 2024-2025.

We currently have six 3rd graders, six 4th graders, and six 5th graders. For 2024-2025, we’re prioritizing the admission of incoming 3rd graders to maintain the equal distribution of students amongst grades. We will consider accepting incoming 4th graders. It’s unlikely that we would accept incoming 5th graders.

We have a four-part application process. The parts must be completed in order.

  1. The parent(s) or guardian(s) participate in an introductory phone call, Zoom call, or tour with Greg Brown, the director. You can schedule using this link.

  2. The parent(s) or guardian(s) complete an application.

  3. The parent(s) or guardian(s) and child tour the school and meet with the director. This is not an interview, but the child is required to actively participate for the first 20 minutes. After that, they can read, draw, or do another quiet activity while the adults finish. If a child refuses or lacks the skills to participate in the meeting, Activate is not a good match. You can schedule using this link.

  4. The child shadows for a day at Activate. During the shadow day, a brief literacy and math assessment will be administered to the child.
