Greg Brown, an elementary teacher, has a passion for arts, technology, and music. He is especially interested in digital arts. In the summer of 2017, he followed his passions and opened up Activate Day Camp out of Forest Park Elementary. The camp has an arts focus; but children also swim regularly, go on field trips, and have ample time to play.
After two successful summers, he had a desire to offer these programs year-round, so in the fall of 2018, he opened a small studio workspace on N Williams. Activate Studio hosts Saturday enrichment courses and camps during school breaks. He also uses the space for reading tutoring for children. He specializes in dyslexia interventions.
In the Summer of 2019, he is moving Activate Studio to larger space in the Sellwood neighborhood. He is taking a leave from his classroom teaching job, and he is going to offer after school enrichment courses, tutoring, full day camps during teacher inservice days, and week-long camps during breaks.
